1. Design Stage: Design the hot runner system according to the shape, size, and cavity layout of the beverage cap. It is necessary to ensure that the design of the melt channel can evenly distribute the plastic to each cavity. Ideally, the melt channel is designed symmetrically to ensure that the flow lengths and the number of turns of all downstream runners are the same, so as to achieve the balance of plastic flow rate. In a multi-cavity mold, it is necessary to consider balancing the system through artificial lengths and turning points. For example, in this 18-cavity mold, accurately plan the runner to make the pressure and temperature of the plastic consistent when it enters each cavity, avoiding problems such as uneven filling, lack of material, or flash.


2. Machining of the Hot Runner Plate: Machine the hot runner plate according to the design scheme. The hot runner plate is generally divided into two categories: standard and non-standard, and its structural form depends on the distribution of the cavities on the mold, the arrangement of the nozzles, and the position of the gates. During the machining process, ensure the dimensional accuracy and surface roughness of the runner to reduce the resistance of plastic flow. At the same time, set the installation holes for the heating rods and heating coils on the hot runner plate to ensure that the runner is always in a high-temperature state and the plastic remains molten.


3. Installation of the Nozzles: Install the open hot nozzles on the hot runner plate. The open hot nozzle has a relatively simple structure and is suitable for micro semi-hot runners. During the installation, ensure a good seal between the nozzle and the hot runner plate to prevent plastic leakage. The selection of the nozzle head needs to consider the material and product characteristics of the beverage cap to ensure that the plastic can be smoothly injected into the cavity and there will be no wire drawing or other defects at the gate.
