The five - gallon cap mold mainly consists of the fixed mold, moving mold, cavity, core, gating system, cooling system and ejection system. After the fixed mold and the moving mold are closed, the cavity and core of the cap are formed. The gating system is used to inject the molten plastic into the cavity. The cooling system can make the plastic cool and solidify quickly, and the ejection system ejects the cap from the mold after molding.
Operation Process
1. Preparation work: Check whether each part of the mold is in good condition, clean the mold surface and apply an appropriate amount of release agent. Install the mold on the injection molding machine and connect the cooling water circuit and hydraulic pipeline well.
2. Injection molding: Add the plastic raw material into the barrel of the injection molding machine and heat it to the molten state. Inject the molten plastic into the mold cavity through the screw of the injection molding machine. During the injection process, parameters such as injection pressure, speed and temperature should be well - controlled to ensure the molding quality of the cap.
3. Cooling and solidification: The plastic injected into the cavity is quickly cooled and solidified under the action of the cooling system. The cooling time should be adjusted according to the thickness of the cap and the characteristics of the plastic to ensure that the cap reaches sufficient strength and dimensional accuracy.
4. Mold opening and ejection: After cooling is completed, the injection molding machine opens the mold, and the ejection system works to eject the molded cap from the mold. Then, conduct a quality inspection on the cap, such as appearance, size, sealing performance, etc. The qualified caps enter the next process, and the unqualified ones are analyzed and processed.
Maintenance
1. Regularly clean the mold surface to remove the remaining plastic and dirt to prevent them from affecting the molding quality of the cap.
2. Check the moving parts of the mold, such as ejector pins and sliders, and add lubricating oil in a timely manner to ensure their smooth movement.
3. Regularly check the cooling system and gating system, clean the blocked pipes to ensure the normal operation of the system.
4. Conduct regular maintenance and repair on the mold, and replace the worn - out parts in a timely manner to extend the service life of the mold.
